Customers support 100,000 children in 2014
In November 2013, Lebara launched a new initiative to drive more funding into rebuilding the Tamil community in Sri Lanka during 2014.
For every €10 credit customers top up and calls Sri Lanka, the company will donate €1*. Customers will also be able to help in choosing how the donation is spent; they just need to respond to the SMS they receive which gives them the option of access and improvement of education, providing healthcare or orphanage support in Sri Lanka.
So far, Lebara has helped to improve the quality of life and future prospects of over 30,000 children in Tamil communities by providing access to education, healthcare and housing.
* £1 will be donated for every £10 top up in the UK, 1 DKK for every 10 DKK in Denmark and $1 for every $10 in Australia.
