Joseph and his wife have seven children, aged between 13 and 27 years-old. Joseph is suffering from kidney failure, so is unable to work and provide for his family. His two teenage sons are supporting the family and between the nine of them, they have a meager Rs. 2,000/- per month.
The family was displaced during the war in Sri Lanka and when they returned to their village they had to work hard to clear the jungle that had taken over in their absence.
Meanwhile, they were living in a temporary house until The Lebara Foundation learnt of their plight and has now provided them with a permanent house in the Lebara Village.
