George and his wife have four children aged between five and 10 years-old. George is a laborer who is unable to work regularly. Both he and his wife were caught in the cross fire during the Sri Lankan civil war and were wounded. They are both still suffering and are unable to work and support their children sufficiently through education.
While they were displaced from their village, the family got separated from each other until they were reunited at a rehabilitation camp. They then returned home in 2010 to find their house was damaged and the land was barren.
They were temporarily housed and suffering until the Lebara Foundation provided them with a permanent house in the Lebara Village. It’s now their focus to provide their children with the best education possible.
