Lebara Group launches Pay Monthly Contracts

LEBARA GROUP LAUNCHES PAY MONTHLY CONTRACTS
UK customers first to receive new portfolio with up to 2500 UK or international minutes Plans range from £10 - £40
LONDON, UK – 27 SEPTEMBER 2010: Lebara, the global leader in providing high quality, low-cost international mobile services, today took a significant step forward with the introduction of Pay Monthly contracts. Available initially in the UK, plans offer 2500 international or UK minutes and innovative three month contracts, with prices ranging from just £10 up to £40. All plans include up to 2000 Lebara-to- Lebara call minutes and text messages and, in celebration of the launch, Lebara is also offering up to 10MB of mobile internet access per day free until November 1st 2010. In expanding its product portfolio Lebara continues to solidify its leadership position.
Available immediately, the new SIM-only plans are aimed at customers who appreciate the value that has become the trademark of Lebara and its Pay As You Go SIM, but whose lifestyle and usage patterns are more suited to a monthly plan. Plans include: My Country for customers predominantly calling internationally; UK Caller for those who mainly make UK calls, but still want great international rates; and Combo for those customers looking for a combination of both. The plans are supported by a new dedicated Pay Monthly customer services team providing support in multiple languages.

Dario Talmesio, Senior Analyst for Informa's Mobile Operator Intelligence Centre commented: “Our recent MVNO research shows that the space is getting increasingly crowded and that MVNOs need to differentiate their offering. In that context, post pay is an obvious and safe service evolution. According to Informa Telecoms and Media data 42.8% of UK subscriptions are postpaid; Lebara is opening up a whole new market segment with clear growth opportunities.”
Customers can sign up for the new plans online, via free-phone or in more than1500 independent mobile phone retailers. Additional national retailers, wholesalers and distributors will be announced in the coming weeks. As a SIM-only offering, existing Lebara Pay As You Go customers can transfer seamlessly to the monthly plan of their choice, while keeping their existing number and SIM card.
In response to customer feedback, Lebara is offering an initial minimum term contract of just three months, after which it becomes a rolling one month contract, cancellable with one month’s notice. Payment is made via Direct-Debit with a simple set amount per month based on the chosen plan. Calls that fall outside of the plan are charged at Lebara’s standard low-cost rates and appear on the same bill.
